62-year-old man presents with hematuria and pain in the right flank.  Further work-up reveals the presence of a right kidney mass and a left lower lobe lung mass.  A kidney and lung biopsy are performed and are shown below, respectively.


 

What is your diagnosis?

A. Pulmonary adenocarcinoma metastatic to kidney
B. Two independent lung and kidney carcinomas
C. Renal cell carcinoma metastatic to lung
D. Adenomatous hyperplasia of the lung and concurrent renal cell carcinoma
